IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS DEPARTMENT – BỆNH VIỆN QUỐC TẾ SẢN NHI HẢI PHÒNG

IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS DEPARTMENT

Located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the 19-story Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Department of Imaging Diagnosis performs a full range of ultrasound and radiographic techniques, closely coordinating with the Outpatient Department and various specialties in diagnosing and treating pregnant women and children.

Human Resources Team

Gathering a team of highly skilled, meticulous doctors, graduates, and technicians with extensive professional experience in obstetric and pediatric imaging diagnosis; closely collaborating with Hai Phong International General Hospital in performing high-tech imaging diagnostic techniques; the nursing team is well-trained, enthusiastic, and friendly, ensuring the best service for mothers and children.

Modern Equipment System, International Standards

The imaging diagnosis department is equipped with modern machinery imported from leading global medical device manufacturers such as Siemens, Phillips, etc., ensuring accurate and rapid results, saving time for doctors in diagnosing and treating diseases.

3D Breast Tissue Elasticity Ultrasound System ACUSON S2000 ABVS

Helps screen and diagnose better for patients with dense breast tissue typical of Asian women, accurately detecting and locating small lesions to assist in monitoring and treating diseases. This is one of the most advanced ultrasound solutions integrated with tissue elasticity technology, using ARFI (Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse) to assess tissue stiffness, which helps verify and supplement results on 3D images, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and minimizing unnecessary biopsy procedures. This system also allows for rapid and safe evaluation of breast lesions as it is non-invasive and does not involve radiation, making it suitable for pregnant women. Particularly, it is appropriate for routine screening indications as it can detect microcalcifications as small as 0.5 mm, and since it does not involve radiation, it is also safe for periodic screening indications.

AFFINITI 70C Cardiac Doppler Ultrasound System

Operates on the nSIGHT ultrasound technology platform, increasing signal processing speed by 10 times and securing patient information. The 21.5-inch screen with xMatrix Purewave anti-shake technology provides excellent image quality, sharp down to the finest detail. The PureWave transducer technology, wideband multi-frequency – overcomes limitations in difficult cases, providing high-resolution images from near field to far field, increasing reliability in early pregnancy diagnosis cases. Fully integrated with smart optimization software helps doctors reduce examination time and diagnose conditions more accurately.

Bemens Pinkview-RT Mammography System

Utilizes BEMEMS digital imaging software to provide a comfortable imaging space, convenient image management, and direct digital imaging plates (AmorphousSelenium/a-SE) achieves excellent image quality without losing signal and blurring effects; the image acquisition area is 18×26 cm, which is 35% larger than standard plates, helping to minimize the need for multiple positions. Based on mammography results, early detection of breast ductal carcinoma can be achieved (current recommendations suggest that women over 40 should have a mammogram every 1-2 years), with symptoms such as lumps in the breast, breast pain, or unusual discharge from the nipple, etc.

Technical services performed in the department

Ultrasound:
– General ultrasound: detects and screens for certain pediatric pathologies, transfontanelle ultrasound, inguinal scrotal ultrasound, soft tissue ultrasound, breast elastography, thyroid elastography, etc.
– Obstetric ultrasound: determines gestational age and due date, diagnoses early pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy to screen for fetal abnormalities early.
– Gynecological ultrasound: identifies ovarian tumors, uterine fibroids, cervical tumors, cases of infection, and fluid accumulation in the fallopian tubes.
♦ Advanced techniques:
– 3D breast elastography ultrasound
– Color Doppler echocardiography

X-ray:
– Skull X-ray in traumatic brain injury, in pituitary fossa surveys.
– Blondeau Hirtz X-ray to evaluate the sinuses.
– X-ray of the temporomandibular joints.
– Mastoid X-ray in evaluating otitis media.
– Chest survey positions including heart, lungs, rib cage, etc.
– Specialized abdominal survey techniques in emergency situations such as intestinal obstruction, hollow organ perforation, peritonitis, etc.
– Specialized techniques for the urinary system with or without intravenous contrast injection.
– Techniques for gastrointestinal surveys using oral contrast for small bowel or retrograde colon imaging.
– Hysterosalpingography.
– Mammography.
– Fistula imaging.
– Biliary-pancreatic imaging, either retrograde or antegrade…
– Whole skeletal imaging from the spine to upper and lower limbs…

Mammography:
It is a special X-ray technique for the breast commonly used to assist in diagnosing breast diseases in women. Currently, mammography is one of the important means for screening and early diagnosis of breast cancer. Therefore, in many countries around the world, older women are advised to have regular mammograms (usually once a year).

CT Scanner:
– Brain CT: supports the diagnosis of traumatic brain injuries.
– Sinus CT: shows the condition of the sinuses, regarding nasal cavity abnormalities, and can create three-dimensional images for easier intervention by ENT specialists…
– Middle ear CT: assesses the condition inside the middle ear, whether there is infection or how it affects the adjacent ossicles and mastoid cells.
– Chest CT: checks for inflammatory lesions, lung tumors, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, pleural disease… Chest CT also effectively surveys mediastinal and cardiovascular diseases, especially with CT from 64 slices and above, we can avoid the influence of heart rhythm, making it a strong application in coronary artery surveys.
– Abdominal CT: helps diagnose easily identifiable causes such as appendicitis, acute pancreatitis, hollow organ perforation, intestinal obstruction, intussusception… In addition, CT alsoproviding many data points for uterine tumors – adnexa …
– Urinary system CT: advantages in diagnosing kidney stones, urinary system tumors, infections, and congenital malformations of the urinary system…

MRI
– Brain MRI, cerebral blood vessels.
– Spine MRI: cervical, thoracic, lumbar
– Musculoskeletal MRI: knee joint, shoulder joint, elbow joint, wrist joint, hand joint, hip joint, ankle joint, foot joint…
– Soft tissue MRI: examination of soft tissues in the arm, forearm, thigh, calf…
