Looking at the little angel soundly asleep, it is hard to imagine that just a few days ago, both mother and baby had to go through such a difficult “delivery.” The mother, F, a 30-year-old Philippine national, arrived at Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in a state of premature rupture of membranes at just 35 weeks of pregnancy. It was even more dangerous as the fetus was diagnosed with intrauterine growth restriction due to pathological uterine artery issues. The uterine artery plays a very important role, serving as the pathway for providing nutrition and oxygen to the fetus. When there are problems with the uterine artery, the fetus is at risk of developing slowly in the womb and increases the risk of preeclampsia for the mother. After the delivery, both mother and baby are in stable health.
