The Pharmacy Department – Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital was established on January 1, 2021. The Pharmacy Department is responsible for managing and advising the hospital’s Board of Directors on all pharmaceutical work in the hospital to ensure the timely and adequate supply of quality medications and to consult and supervise the safe and rational use of medications.

The Pharmacy Department is continuously equipped and upgraded with storage systems and medication preservation equipment with the goal of meeting Good Storage Practice (GSP) standards by 2019. The Pharmacy Department has successfully implemented and continuously maintained the 5S management method in the drug storage areas and emergency drug cabinets in all clinical departments to help minimize the risk of medication dispensing errors.
The Pharmacy Department is equipped with updated professional documents, high-speed internet access, and medication information software, including drug interaction alerts, to help pharmacists monitor medication errors through the review of 100% of inpatient medication orders and 100% of outpatient health insurance prescriptions.
To better serve patients, the Pharmacy Department collaborates with the IT department to implement software for printing medication prescriptions typed by doctors. This is to avoid situations where patients cannot read prescriptions written by doctors.
Continuous training is prioritized in the Pharmacy Department to enhance knowledge of medication use, consultation skills, and communication attitudes, helping pharmacists effectively carry out clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical management activities, ensuring optimal pharmaceutical care for patients and the most effective management of medication use.
