Recently, doctors at Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital successfully performed laparoscopic surgery on a 2-year-old boy, P.D.T.L, who had a congenital biliary cyst causing bile duct obstruction and hepatitis. After the surgery, the child recovered well, was stable, and was discharged from the hospital.
\nChild L was admitted due to progressively increasing jaundice. Test results showed that the child had hepatitis, along with bile duct obstruction. Through examination and imaging diagnosis, the doctors identified the cause as a congenital biliary cyst, a malformation of the bile duct that caused bile to accumulate and not flow normally into the intestine. <\/p>\n

After being stabilized with medical treatment and meeting the surgical criteria, the child underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove the biliary cyst, followed by the creation of a new pathway for bile to flow from the liver to the intestine, restoring bile circulation.
