Change in quality of life after breast adenoma surgery

Patient H has been suffering from breast hypertrophy accompanied by bilateral breast sagging for many years. Besides affecting the quality of life, the patient is also very self-conscious about her flaw.

With the experience and professional skills of the doctors at the International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital’s Center for Plastic Surgery, surgery was performed for the patient:
– Removal of excess breast glandular tissue
– Reduction of excess skin
– Reduction of the areola
– Relocation of the nipple to an appropriate position
– Modification of the breast fold

The surgery was successful. The patient was cared for post-operatively (2-3 days in the hospital) and had stitches removed after 10 days – the patient is very satisfied with the surgical results.

Breast hypertrophy is a condition characterized by abnormally large breasts due to excessive growth of breast glandular tissue, leading to imbalance and potential health risks. There are two levels depending on the size of the breasts:

1. Breast hypertrophy (macromastia) with a volume of less than 2.5 kg

2. Gigantomastia with a volume greater than 2.5 kg

This condition is commonly seen in women with elevated hormone levels, stimulating development in the breast epithelium. The adipose tissue, stromal tissue, or glandular tissue may be involved, and genetic factors can also play a role. Patients may experience pain radiating to the shoulders and back, numbness in the arms, headaches, and a tendency for the spine to curve forward. There may even be moments of shortness of breath.

Currently, the Department of Plastic Surgery – Aesthetic Surgery regularly performs reconstructive surgeries at reasonable costs while ensuring that the public has access to the most modern and safest services and techniques.
