On August 29, 2023, Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital organized a regular health check-up for children at the two Son Ca preschool facilities.
Participating in the health check-up were pediatric specialists with postgraduate training and nurses from the Pediatric Outpatient Department.
Regular health check-ups not only detect early cases of diseases commonly found in schools, such as obesity, malnutrition, dental diseases, internal and external medical conditions… and other diseases that families may not have identified due to the absence of clear symptoms. During this health check-up, the children are examined in sequence from height, weight, to ear-nose-throat and dental examinations. Additionally, doctors also conduct surgical and nutritional assessments for over 300 children to timely identify any health issues. In particular, cases of acute diseases such as hand-foot-mouth disease, chickenpox, pneumonia… that require prompt examination and treatment will be immediately reported after the check-up with a Referral Slip so that the children can receive prioritized treatment. Other health conditions will be compiled to send back notifications to the school. From there, the school will inform the parents of the children.
This activity is part of a series of health care activities for preschool age organized by Hai Phong International Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in collaboration with kindergartens in the city to spread beautiful gestures in the community, contributing to the cause of health care for the people.
