Foreign body aspiration is a common accident in children, especially during the Tet holiday. If not handled promptly, it can pose a danger to the child. Sharp foreign bodies can puncture the airway, causing pneumothorax, respiratory distress, and in severe cases, death… Medical experts recommend that parents should take their child to a medical facility immediately if they notice prolonged coughing or wheezing, suspecting foreign body aspiration, to prevent dangerous complications from occurring.
